Founded by Bishop John J. Russell of the Diocese of Richmond in response to the growth of Fairfax County in the early 1960′s, Good Shepherd celebrated its first Mass on Sunday, May 30, 1965, with 900 families gathered in Walt Whitman High School (now Mount Vernon High School). (Read more)
